Howdy folks!

Misery loves company...

"The Miserable"
Poem/design by Artsieladie Poem/design by Artsieladie
PNG urls:

With all the rotten behaviour seen on the Internet,
It is best to remember, don't let ourselves forget
That those who are with themselves, so dissatisfied,
Inflict their misery onto others to feel more gratified.

People who are bullies; are heartless, cruel, and mean,
Carry around within themselves a very ugly scene.
Because for who and what they are, they feel contempt,
They want others to be like them. No one is exempt.

Instead of taking measures to help themselves improve,
They choose to burrow deeper into the misery groove,
Because to rise above, there's initiative required
Of self motivation along with betterment desired.

Inadequacies within, though very unappealing,
The Miserable choose to compensate for by stealing
From others who have worked for and earned integrity,
As trophies for their vainness to share in their misery.

Actions and behaviours reflect on the source
Not on intended targets nor directed course.
The Miserable are only capable of misery projection;
Their ignorance cannot grasp their miserable reflection.

Wallowers in misery seek more company,
Wanting others to feel their own misery.
Bringing down others to share their lowly roost
Is the highlight of their life and their only boost.

The Miserable will stop at nothing in their pursuit,
With no level too low to stoop to suck in a recruit.
They respect no boundaries; their wrongs they justify.
Deception of all sorts is their guide they live by.

It's important to remember to keep things in perspective,
To know the truth behind another's cruel objective.
For when we understand why others are unkind,
They cannot steal from us our own peace of mind.

When we encounter people who cause us a frowning,
We can then be sure in misery they are drowning.
When all they can project is hate and bitterness,
They're void of anything except self loathsomeness.

However, bad behaviours we must not condone,
Incorporate or feed, make them part of our own.
Wrongs never make a right, regardless of the count,
And only right can override and the wrong surmount.

Greet negative with positive; wrongs greet with right;
Meet lies with Truth; to all darkness, meet with Light.
Never participate in an arena where there are no rules;
Where the grand prize is misery awarded by its fools.

Unless one is a hermit, hidden from the world,
It's impossible to avoid all the misery being hurled.
Though we are tempted, we must take a stand
For misery is a slippery slope right into quicksand.

We can only show others a better alternative;
The choice they make thereafter with how they live,
Is theirs and theirs alone which they will decide
To stay on misery's path or to seek a better ride.

"The Miserable among us, so rotten and so rude,
Make themselves clairvoyant with their attitude.
As they attack others, they paint their self portrait
Of their miserable existence and pathetic state."

Howdy folks!

I think when it comes to our pets, particularly with cats and dogs, we establish an unbreakable bond that no human can match. Perhaps, it's because our beloved pets accept us as we are; love us unconditionally and hence we know we can be our true selves with and around them. Humans tend to come with conditions and strings attached and we often feel like we have to prove ourselves to other humans. With animals there isn't any of these conditions.

Three beloved kitty-cats claim us as their humans: O'Maley, Gizmo, and Molly. lol

My Kitty is my friend, when no one wants to be.
She's tolerant of my quirks, she's prrr-fect just for me.
She knows sometimes I'm lonely, but she always does her best,
To lift my spirits up, as she purrs upon my chest.

When I'm in the need to talk about the part,
That lies in a secret place deep inside my heart,
She rubs her head against me, as the aching, longing stirs,
But I know my secret's safe, with her reassuring purrs.

For all the times, when the pain's so great
And I think there's nothing to console it or abate,
She once again comes through, my lack of faith, forgives,
Reminds me in my heart, is where she always lives.

Howdy folks!

"Follow your dreams, your heart's desire,
To find your gifts and your passion's fire."
~ Artsieladie Quote

"Follow Your Dreams"
Poem by Artsieladie
Full Size PNG:

When we pursue our dreams, we follow our heart,
And then discover our passions within our deepest part.
We won’t only find our Purpose for our Path of Life,
But if we follow our heart, we’ll find our husband or wife.

When we discover our passion, we find our gift
And when we find our gift, we no longer drift
Along through life, allowing our time to waste away.
Our Purpose learned, we make the most of every day.

When we follow our dreams, we discover our gifts within,
Uncovering our Purpose in life, allowing passions to begin.
In life we can learn many things and learn to do them well,
But when we unleash our passions, we blossom and excel.

Follow Your Dreams and in life you will find your niche,
Discover then His Purpose to be immeasurably rich,
A richness money cannot buy, fulfillment of your whole,
Happiness, peace, contentment in your heart and soul.

We all have a Purpose, are all part of God’s Plan,
Regardless of who we are, a woman or a man.
When we follow our dreams, our hearts we follow,
Where God Guides us through today and tomorrow.

When we follow our heart, allow ourselves to be led,
We find our True Love, whom we are meant to wed,
Whom we are meant to share our struggles and our strife,
Our hopes, dreams, and passions with, the Love of our life.

Follow Your Dreams, follow your heart,
Find your gifts, your passions jump-start
And for the better, your life will be changed,
You’ll no longer feel from yourself estranged.
With your Purpose realised, you’ll really be living
With a new perspective on the true meaning of giving.

Howdy folks

It seems so many traits that make up good character in a person are becoming visible less and less. The aspects that make up what beautifies the human spirit, the human soul, are becoming out of style, obsolete. Love has so many wonderful components and it's these components that must be present to nurture and nourish the Love we all have within us. Either we choose to nurture them or we starve them. If we nurture, we shine as a result. If we choose to starve them, we then become prime candidates for darkness to consume us and with the darkness comes all the opposites of Love, the negatives on the side of hatred. We are given 'free will' to choose for ourselves which we will pursue, Love and Light -or- Hate and Darkness. I choose "Love and Light".

Kathy Mantei, a dear friend of mine's status (2014-05-03), inspired me to write this poem and place it in a work of art as well:

"See ya after while, Crocodiles! :) Me and Momma are off to shop at Sam's Club! If ya need anything leave me your list! :-D"

Hence.. my list...

"Shopping List"

Art/poem by Artsieladie
Full Size PNG:

Sister Kathy's going shopping and she's asked me for my list,
Needing LOTS of help, so I could not her, resist...

I have a shopping list not too very long,
But the items listed must be sadly wrong.
My list was made awhile ago, still incomplete,
For it seems I'm shopping for things obsolete,
Or at the least rare, very scarce to uncover,
No longer cultivated, to find, to discover.

At the very top is Love, which should be everywhere,
But not so easy is it to find, leaving me in despair.
I can find ego alright, aplenty all around,
But humility? ..So little to be found.
There's apathy and indifference, an abundant supply,
But finding empathy and compassion, the well's gone dry.
Everywhere I turn, there's justification freely spread,
Yet, no accountability found, as others are on, tread.

Truth and honesty are on my list, second from the top,
It seems though, they're out of stock every place I shop.
While lying and deceitfulness are generously promoted,
Handed out like candy, so sweetly, sugar coated.
Honour and respect have become out of season.
Patience and acceptance have lost all their reason.
Gratitude and thankfulness left with news of yesterday;
Now everything is about 'me' the headlines read and say.

Other things I've listed like kindness, hope, and caring,
Compassion and forgiveness, not many up for sharing.
Understanding's not in style, a fad of yesterday,
Passing judgement onto others now on display.
Modesty and privacy, their contracts have run out,
With ostentatious behaviour flaunted all about.
Consideration for others, indefinitely placed on ice,
Manners and politeness gone, along with friendly, nice.

All the many values to build character needed,
Integrity and virtue, all practically depleted.
Principles and convictions, rocks on which to stand,
Have all but washed away, leaving only shifting sand.

I made my list awhile ago but without much success,
For all the shopping done has caused me great distress.
Even words I'm shopping for can't be found with ease,
Like, "I'm sorry" or "Thank you" or the one, "Please".
I never thought my list to be so arduous a task,
Until I went shopping and then I had to ask,
For items I thought to be to all near and dearly,
Their scarcity alarms me, saddens me severely.

Up and down I've searched, aisle after aisle,
A rarity indeed should I see a happy smile.
I enter every store, every shopping mart,
Hoping just to fill my empty shopping cart.
I am lucky if I can find just one or two or three
Of the items I've been searching for in every shopping spree.
But the saddest thing of all on my list, at the very top,
Is that genuine Love is hard to find no matter where I shop.

What's so really sad you ask about Love in short supply?
Because Love is within all of us, but still we shun it. Why?
It does seem my shopping list is much longer than I thought,
But surely ‘twould be nice to find everything I’ve sought.
It is my wish one day to find abundantly all of the above,
And shining in everyone’s hearts the item we know as Love.
