University-Of-Life

Howdy folks!

"The best teacher in life, IS life."
~ Artsieladie Quote

"University Of Life"
(image pending)

From the school of Hard Knocks, Life's University;
A student of progressive learning, a grad to never be.
For this course of study, there is not an end,
Until my time is up with hope to Heaven, I'll ascend.

With a multitude of lessons of varying degrees;
Some very complicated, some through, I can breeze.
Then there are those that I must keep repeating
Until the lesson's learned. Life forbids cheating.

The most valuable lessons though, if them, I'm to land,
Come mainly through and by experience, only first hand.
These lessons can be the toughest when I'm badly burned,
But once made through, these lessons never are unlearned.

Always a 'work in progress' with a goal that is set
To build on, improve myself, and lest I should forget,
Life will remind me, use my conscience purposely to gain
My attention unpleasantly until back on track again.

With the University Of Life, there's attendance every day,
Since Life takes no vacations and grants no vacation pay.
Classes are in session always, seven days a week.
Tardiness is frowned upon for anyone who will seek.

As with any learning, Life works best with a willing student,
If one is to evolve, gain wisdom, be humble along with prudent.
The levels we achieve in Life in our character, reflects,
Based on what we've earned not what our ego's pride projects.

There are no report cards for there is no need,
Since Life rewards in accordance with, per every deed.
All progressive students learn at different rates,
Learn different lessons in accordance with their fates.

Since every student has a uniquely different course,
With lessons in different order from a different source,
Each student in their learning is where they need to be,
Learning lessons some have learned; others yet to see.

A progressive student learns Life brings surprises,
Some good, some bad, and some hidden in disguises
And Life is ever changing to keep us on our toes,
Encountering the flower OR the thorns of the rose.

In the learning process, Life teaches what to value most;
What to cultivate within us; what type of pride to host.
For an eager student who desires to achieve integrity,
Life has special challenges to be met but not easily.

Life's lessons may be hard, some horrible to bear,
But all in all we come through better for the wear.
For each lesson that we learn, more strength we achieve,
More courage we obtain, we can rely on and believe.

Somewhere along the way we learn about perspective
And which priorities should be in our main objective.
Priorities in Life are essential if we are to spare
Ourselves from the grief of regret, burdensome to bear.

But Life is not all work with never any play.
In between and during lessons, Life finds a way
To bring us joy and happiness, in abundance we can reap,
With peace in our hearts we can hold onto and keep.

With Life's lessons that we learn and if we learn them well,
All the precious gifts of, number more than I can ever tell.
But all that's good and beautiful can't be truly appreciated,
Without some bad and ugly for comparison, well illustrated.

Although there are no diplomas, there is great reward,
When for my character, integrity I've earned and scored,
Gaining self worth, esteem, confidence, and discipline,
All combined with humility, is most definitely a win.

So, yes, I am a student of the University Of Life,
The school of Hard Knocks with lots of stress and strife.
But I would not trade this for all of China's tea,
Because all the lessons learned have made a wiser, better me!

And yes, I am still enrolled for work on me's not done.
I'll be a 'work in progress' until my last setting sun.
In progressive learning I've yet to learn many lessons still
And if I'm a humble, willing student, somehow I know I will.

💗 Have a blessed day! ðŸ’—

Foolish-Vs-Wise

Greetings everyone, from Artsieladie!

This poem was inspired by a quote by a person whom I consider to be a treasured friend, Mohammad Zafarullah Khan Marwat. His quote reads:

"Don't correct a fool because he will hate you,
Correct a wise man and he will be grateful to you."

His quote brought to mind as well when a person I held so dear in my heart turned against me and wanted nothing more to do with me after I corrected his accusations against me with factual data supporting my defense, resulting with he not having any comeback other than being left with acknowledging that he had been corrected, which he was incapable of doing for one has to have in their character, humility to be able to admit when they have made a mistake. This is when I learned that his level of humbleness wasn't as high as I had thought and that his ego was very much a central part of his character.

Because I didn't blindly go along with his false allegations, which he had accused me of making against him, and I also provided disputing proof of his, I suddenly became unworthy to be in his life. I can never agree with or go along with what I know to be untrue, even if it's coming from a person I think the world of. But ultimately, by his reaction I was afforded the ability to learn the REAL Truth. He only loved me when I went along with him and never took a stand against him. When I did, I found out his love wasn't quite as "profound" for me as he had claimed so fervently.

He refused to have any sort of discussion with me to afford us the chance to work through our differences, which I thought to be little more than miscommunication resulting in misunderstandings. But then another woman informed me that he discussed "our issues" and "me" with her. He wouldn't discuss 'us' or 'me' with me but he was more than okay with discussing 'us' and 'me' with another who knows me not but believes he can do no wrong. Therefore, he went to a 'sympathizer', a person who will always "Yes Sir" him rather than have himself face the truth of his own false projection.

"You never know how much another Loves you until their Love is tested,
Until they prove to you how much in the Love their own heart is invested."
~ Artsieladie Quote

To say I believed him, believed in him, would be a gross understatement. Having had my trust completely destroyed a number of times before, it took me a fairly long time to decide to try and trust again, to trust him, to "believe" his words of "profound Love" were honest, genuine, and true. In fact the person who is stalking me and invading my privacy now and has been for 8+ years, was also a person at one time who I believed in and trusted, only to have to come to the very harsh reality I shouldn't have. So again, my trust was obliterated.

But trust is something that must be given to another, placed in another, first, and then you have to wait and see how the other person is going to treat the trust. Will they respect it? Will they appreciate you trusting them? Will they treat your trust with reverence and dignity? Will they honour your trust? ..OR will they disrespect, betray, and destroy your trust? It's in "their" treatment of your trust given which will speak volumes about their character, whether they are a person of virtue, integrity, and trustworthiness or not. Therefore, the "wrong" does NOT lie with, CANNOT lie with, the person who elects to trust. The "wrong" can only rest with the person who chooses to disrespect, betray, and destroy it.

It's the same with Love. There is no shame in the "giving of Love". There can only be shame with the one or ones who use, abuse, disrespect, etc. the Love given to them and/or the Trust given. Those reading this who feel ashamed, stupid, embarrassed, etc. for Loving, for Trusting, don't do this to yourself. If someone uses, abuses, disrespects, etc. either, allocate the blame correctly. The blame rests with those who use, abuse, disrespect, etc. it. Those who do aren't likely to accept the shame and blame because their ego driven character (arrogance) won't allow for this, but just because they don't accept it, it doesn't remove the fact that the blame and shame is theirs still. Weak people can't accept their own fallacies and can only shift blame and shame onto others and very often on those who they've transgressed against.

"Trust must be given first, placed in another's court,
To see if they will honour it or betray it to abort."
~ Artsieladie Quote

"Foolish Vs Wise"

I corrected him and he kicked me to the curb,
His love turned to hate, his vengeance to observe.
I was supposed to accept his statements incorrect,
Accusatory of me wrongly, how dare I object!

Because I used facts to dispute his claim,
He tries to make me the wearer of his shame.
He expected me to cave, say to him, "Yes, Sir!"
Yield to his command, agree with him, concur,
Even though I knew what he said wasn't true.
Hated to disappoint him, but I no can do!

I had already tried this, allowed him to be right
And I accepted all the blame to him I did write
Because he meant to me more than any claim.
I relinquished any pride for Love's Precious Name.
How did he repay me? He professed his Love profound,
To me all the while knowing its sweet but empty sound.

Now because I stood up to him, and I did it with respect,
I am deemed disloyal and loathed as a worthless reject.
Don't expect me to grovel, beg or bow, nor apologise
For speaking of the Truth against what I know are lies.

Elements of Love, Truth and Honesty I uphold.
My integrity can't be bought for all the world's gold,
Nor will I relinquish it for even the 'said' sake of Love,
Especially for an imitation, any generic version of.
God's Most Precious Gift I hold Sacred in my heart,
With a fool I will not barter with, my most precious part.

When you correct a fool, they will hate you and despise
For they perceive themselves infallible and without demise.
But correct a wise one and they will humbly grateful be
Because with wisdom comes vision for one to clearly see
That none of us are perfect, we all have room to grow,
Life's about lessons, learning with so much more to know.

"Should you correct a fool, they'll resent you with spite,
But correct a wise one and they'll sincerely be contrite."

Scars-Are-Stars

Greetings everyone, from Artsieladie!

Life's lessons are tough but they make us stronger, better, and wiser, IF we've learned them well. Some need repeating until we have learned the lesson being taught.

"Scars Are Stars"

When you feel disheartened and dismayed,
Remember other costs you've already paid,
Not to relive previous battle grounds,
But to remind you of the winning rounds,
Where you made it through, stronger than before,
And you will again, make it to the shore.

Allow your scars to be testimonies from your past,
That you have strength enduring and made to last,
Through all the storms and bumpy roads ahead
Focus on accomplishments, minimising dread.

We do not learn lessons for just ourselves alone,
But to help others, showing we have grown.
In life there are many lessons that must be learned,
Teaching us important things that only can be earned.

Wear your scars like badges, for strength from them to borrow.
Remember where you've been to look forward to tomorrow.
For all the lessons learned, you've earned your battle scars,
And in your book of life, they are your golden stars!

Mistakes

Greetings all, from Artsieladie!

Graphics art by Artsieladie

"Mistakes"

Mistakes, we all make them, no one is exempt,
But they only lessen us if we try and attempt
To refuse acknowledgment, make claim of them, avoid,
When our ego and its pride has launched and been deployed,
Using justification tactics convincing ourselves to believe
Accountability isn't needed to be bothered with, conceive.

But Mistakes are life's way of teaching us important lessons
And they bring into focus gratefulness for our many blessin's.
As well, Mistakes help us to keep our egos in check, subdued,
Reminding us we're not infallible so our humility stays renewed.

But Mistakes made can't help us if we, when making them, deny
And then wiggle out of accountability by using excuses to justify.
Our ego and its pride will prevent us from acknowledgment,
Shutting out humbleness, preventing us to make atonement.

There is a price to us, a cost that we must pay
When we listen to and allow our ego into play.
Instead of us being able to clear us from our mistake,
Without accountability for, guilt will us then overtake.

We will be a slave to our ego then, placed under its control,
While the chains of guilt imprison our precious heart and soul.
Guilt doesn't leave us until we, ourselves become humbled
And admit to our Mistakes for the guilt to then be crumbled.

There also is a cost so great for our character is diminished,
Until we are accountable, our respectability is finished,
For there can be had none, no integrity, honour, or respect
For one who, for their Mistakes, responsibility they reject.

But on the flip side, there is great reward to be had,
When we acknowledge our Mistakes, not only are we glad
To be relieved of the burden that guilt upon us lays,
But we gain back our character pluses in so many ways.

When we admit to our Mistakes, our respectability's back in place,
Empowering us with knowing we have the courage then to face
Anything that may tempt us wrongly, that may cause us to fear or dread,
We're blessed knowing our strength and courage for days that lie ahead.

"Life's about learning lessons, many taught through our Mistakes,
But lessons can't be learned until acknowledgment for, one makes.
Only when we acknowledge our Mistakes and for them confess,
Do we learn and note the lesson to improve ourselves, progress."
