Howdy folks! ♥
This poem I wrote along with creating artwork to go with it back in October, 2007 as entries in the Halloween art and poetry competitions Elftown.com used to have. Unfortunately, Elftown has become a virtual ghost town now, barely able to maintain a hundred active members, when it used to have many thousands of active members.
I have many great memories from the days when Elftown was a lot of fun to be on, with many great, talented artists and writers. To say I once loved the site and supported it immensely would be a profoundly gross under statement. Some who I became friends with, I am still friends with today.
But I also have many horrible memories brought on in a nutshell because of one, high ranking person's obsession on the site and another on the site with a high ranking position who was consumed with resentful, bitter jealousy over the obsession that only time has provided me with the vital information connecting the dots. Harbouring and feeding an obsession is seldom if ever good or healthy. Jealousy is a VERY destructive trait to feed and nurture and so, both are traits I choose to starve, steer clear of.
First, I'm posting my latest version of the artwork, a remake with a much better monitor to work with along with much more experience creating digitally, and then the second image is the original. I've also learned since that the PNG format is the much better format for saving art as. The poem is as I wrote it in 2007 and it was a winning entry in Elftown's Halloween Poetry Competition. ♥
"Three Halloween Guests"

The Halloween bash has begun.
Most of the guests have come.
There's ghosts and goblins, witches, too.
They've gathered around their boiling brew.
Somehow, the party seems incomplete,
Even though, there's a variety of feet.
Then, the door opens and there stands three.
Three unknowns, who might they be?
The first is dressed in fleece, a sheep.
Silenced are all, not even a peep.
The second walks in, a pig for sure.
Grunts escape, as he leans on the door.
The third, the last, wearing a crimson hood,
Everyone's eyeing, in the entrance he stood.
The party resumes with ghoulish fun.
Some tricks are played on more than one.
No one's concerned with the three let in,
Nor to the fact, they're not even of kin.
The striking of twelve has long since passed.
The brew is cold, the scene aghast.
Where are the guests? No laughing or screaming,
'Cept the three, sleeping and dreaming,
With paws on their bellies, they're snoring loud,
They've really enjoyed, eating the crowd!
